Where is a good place to search and order tractor wire on the Internet? I have to build my own new wiring harness for a Massey Ferguson 165.
Looking for a good recommended supplier.
Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.
Thank you!
Chris

I have purchased wire, terminals, connector bodies, and protective weave from Waytek wire. You can find them online. They have minimum order quantities for things like connectors and terminals.

Any place that sells low voltage automotive wire. Which is about any auto supply.

If you prefer ordering online try some of the speed shops, like Jegs, Summit Racing, etc.

They have the small rolls of wire, small quantities of terminal ends.

sometimes I go to local auto part store but they are way overpriced,i usually just go there for terminals and switches.i go to homedepot for the spools of wire(very good prices for quality wire).also check out the big terminal kits from harbor freight,i use them all the time on all my machines, and they come with the shrink wrap, they are only like $5-10 for the kits.

Thy this, you will have to poke around for the small bits.

Brillmans carries cloth covered wire to match the cloth covered wire in old cars and tractors. I dont know if your tractor had cloth covered wire but if it did and you want to match it Brillmans is the place to go. Watch the quality of the connectors you buy. There are some real light weight connectors out there that are not acceptable. Waytek carries several thicknesses of connectors. I usually buy the heaviest ones I can find which is about the same thickness as original. You can also get seamless crimp connectors through Waytek, maybe Brillmans too. They hold a crimp better. Good connectors do not come at a bargain price so it is up to you to decide on that subject. I use uninsulated seamless crimp connectors and good quality shrink tube. I solder only if the original was soldered.

If you are looking for good quality wire in multiple colors to build a harness, go with MARINE GRADE wire. My supplier of choice for this wire is genuinedealz DOT com. Odd name, but they sell good wire at what I consider a reasonable price.

The garbage you get at the auto parts stores is poor quality copper, stiff and difficult to work with. Once you've worked with good marine wire, you'll never work with anything else.

I used auto parts store wire to rewire a trailer. The wire was corroded away within two years, nothing but blue dust inside the insulation no matter where you cut it. I re-rewired it with the marine grade wire, and the wire is just a shiny now as it was when I installed it five years ago.

Unless you want old cloth covered wire any electric supply will have MTW [machine tool wire ] flexible and good insulation. For the old asphalt sleeves Gardner-Wescott company different size wire sleeves in cloth asphalt .
