I recently bought a Int 1086...serial number shows it to be a 1978. It has a digital dash center that has a switch that will move around to RPM, MPH, 540 PTO and 1000PTO. What I have read so far is there is an older version and a newer touch screen data center that was put on these tractors.
I am not getting any lights out of the data center....I replaced all of the fuses in the kick out panel and found the inline fuse and replaced it. All of the wires seem in good shape and traced from the harness that plugs in to the data center down to the fuse panel.
In looking at the harness....the are several numbers on both the harness and the back of data center. But not sure what number represents what.
Once I replaced the fuses...the gauges on the other side of the dash began to work.....Oil Pressure gauge....voltgage gauge....temp gauge...gas gauge is not working the needle just sits there and shakes on the E side of the gauge.
I have not pulled out the RPM transcender yet to see if it is dirty..but I am assuming..if wires are good..fuses are now good...tractor fire up and have power to my radio...ac fan unit..windshield wiper, horn....then would I then assume the data center is just bad? Is there a way to check it out or a better way to determine which part of the harness is to be hot or not?
Fairly new in getting back into farming....so my terminology may not be spot on..but any ideas or questions and I will respond.
