Took my JD radiator in for a repair

Since the flail mower, and my JD 401 is down for a few days I have been using my 6 ft woods rotary with my MF 231. I have looked over the hood of that tractor for a lot of years. Actually it does a decent job. When I got my flail mower I thought it was the greatest thing going. It's very high maintenance, seams like I am always fixing something. Now I am looking at a 500.00 bill for 104 new blades. I need to be careful what I run over. Where the Woods will just bounce over almost anything. If the Woods was a little wider, and the MF 231 had better brakes I would start using it more. I don't know why the brakes are so bad on that tractor. New shoes makes no difference. Stan

We had a 231 for raking hay and was the roughest riding no stopping tractor we ever owned. It only lasted a year on the farm.

I have to drive 30 miles to this shop. they still are able to do repairs. and can boil out a radiator. My after market radiator from Turkey had a one year warranty. I had it around 8 months, I guess they will repair it. Stan
