John Deere records

It's been a mission of one for the last few years to find the very first tractor my family had ever owned it was a 1941 John Deere BN with a potato cultivator and I don't have the serial # and thought if I contacted Deere I told them my great grandpa's name and the dealership he got it from they would maybe get me the serial # and I could get 1 step closer to finding it if you could help me in anyway it would be a great help thanks
Vince

If the dealer is still in business you might try there some dealers kee old tractor sales for a long time. It is a long shot but just maybe.

Sadly the dealer closed about 30 years ago that's why I was thinking maybe I could contact deeres record department if they had one

When was the last time the tractor was in the family? Was it sold through auction or privately? It's not promising w/o a serial number.

There's some service you can contact that will sell you a certificate with all that information on it for your Deere tractor. I don't think it's through Deere directly, but I can't remember the name of the place.

Surprised none of the Deere guys have come forward with the information yet.

Big Bud welcome to YT! Do you have any idea who the next owner was? If not sorry to say but you are really reaching. Scouring your own county as well as those surrounding yours is a starting point, but without the serial number if you do find one you think is it you are still just guessing. Then knowing your plight the current owner asks an absorbent price, which you pay not even knowing if it is ...the one... And who is to say that It wasn’t shipped 100 or 200 miles away if not several states. The sadder reality is that way more have been scrapped than saved. You are best off focusing your efforts on finding one and restoring it as a replica or tribute to your families legacy. Just my humble opinion.

You are talking about the two cylinder club and there is not much they can do w/o a serial number. If they had a serial number they could tell where the tractor was
shipped to from the factory be it a branch or maybe a dealer direct. I would imagine that even if bought on credit where you have a file that information would have been
long since purged given the tractor was purchased in 1941. If the family did not give a darn such as it was with my maternal grandfather in terms of saving records then
you are forced to rely on luck. Have not seen my grandpa's 3010 diesel since around 1966 nor his 70 and I doubt I ever will so I know the feeling.

My grandpa and great grandpa traded it at the dealer we got it from in 1969 for the 4020 I will try the two cylinder club but there is no way to contact deeres record department

Without the serial number . The Two Cylinder Club can not do a thing .
Better to advertise everywhere for a tractor that meets the specs and hope to get lucky .
Also attend every antique tractor show in a 100 mile radius and hope to get lucky and find the tractor .
Sorry but this is not quick , easy , cheap or simple .
