New tractor hauler

So......for $850 bucks I could get a gooseneck hitch installed. Or for $2000 we could add another trailer to our fleet. Wife said get a new bumper pull trailer. 20 ft. Electric brakes. Spare tire. Built in Alabama. 2 3500 lb axles. 5' ramps. Will come in handy.

Used 16' trailers are going for $1500. Made sense to buy new.

the only bad is the axles will bend on the first few pot holes. I did the same thing and after a couple years got tired of burning up tires and went and got 5000 lbs axles put under it. Now I can haul a 5000 lbs load without bending axles.

if your going to haul only small tractors it is. axles are to light , they are a car hauler.

It'll be OK for light tractors and equipment but it limits on weight and width,a gooseneck with an over the axles bed would solve both problems plus the truck can handle more weight with a gooseneck.Gooseneck pulls a lot better too.

Grandpa, yes it is possible that as guys are saying, you will not be happy with its load capacity, but I bet that you know what your equipment and supplies weigh, LOL!!!

My son and I just finished rebuilding my 45 year old, 10,000 gvw, 20 ft trailer. We put the ramps back on yesterday. New brakes, new LED lights, new deck. All new paint. Tires were new about 8 years ago.
We added a step on each side by the front mounted tool box that holds the chains, binders and battery for the 12,000 lb winch. I am adding a handle for my old bones to grasp when climbing on.

Showcrop, you have been paying attention
to what equipment I own! My Fords ain't
gonna over load that trailer. And if I
ever want to haul a couple heavy tractors
I still have the gooseneck!

Sounds like a really good deal on the trailer and as you mentioned now you can haul 2x the hay!

can I barrow your wife for a few hours so we can go shopping. I need a new trailer comparable to yours but I really need help with the truck to pull it with. Promise I will feed her and not misuse her at all. lol

After that maybe she can go with me to buy the new hydraulic tilt bed gooseneck I have been looking at on a local trailer lot.Its a little over $14,000 so she needs to bring the check book.(LOL)

For any of his tractors they are plenty heavy. That is the weight axles I had and only problem was when a Jeep wagon plowed into side of me at 50MPH and bent akle and frame. I cannot believe his cost tho. A new one that size around here would be around $4000.
