I recently bought a Ford 4000 tractor
andthe numebers on the bell housing is
OD248
670J8 i seen the Ford production code and serial number page but its confusing of whats whats..can someone help me identify..thanks

Get numbers off rite side to rear of starter. Them look to be the ones on left side.

From the numbers I cannot tell what you have. Now there were 2 different model 4000 tractors made so it would help if you could tell us if youts is the 4 cylinder model built 1964 and prior or if it is the 3 cylinder model built 1965 and later. Then if 64 and earlier 4 speed, 5 speed with tranny, 5 speed with 2 stage clutch or SOS tranny. on Later ones what tranny 8 speed or SOS.
