Can anyone tell me what the port on the valve marked BVD is for. It has one marked IN and one marked OUT. Where does the BVD go. I didn"t take picture and can"t remeber where I goes.

Im pretty sure its BYD. I think it is a power beyond port for running a second hydraulic accessory

Yes it has to be plugged with open center or closed center plug depending on useage or power beyond if running to another valve.

Most of them are PYD but what ever it is power beyond, if you have another valve or a line going on back to the three point it would fasten here.

Gresen makes a lot of hydraulic valve configurations, a number off the valve, a picture of it and what kind of tractor it is on would go a long way towards helping you get correct information for your setup.

You most likely never heard of tractor but hear goes. Tractor CAST, loader KUCHYT, Distributor RECO Sales. Here is what I'm trying to do. Tractor had a 4.5 GPM pump. Distrbutor put Hydrostatic steering and loader on tractor. The pump is to small. I'm putting a larger pump for loader and using the 4.5 GPM pump on steering only. Plumbed like this. oil tank to 4.5GPM pump. Pump to steering unit, sterring unit to oil tank. Oil tank to larger pump, larder loader pump to loader valve (IN).loader valve (out) to oil tank. loader valve BYD port to ????????.

Almost certainly the "BEYOND" port on that valve can be simply plugged if no longer needed.

Trouble with stating that for 100% certain is that hydraulics can be unforgiving and if the tractor has a gear-driven pump and the oil no longer has a place to go that can be a BAD thing and the pump or it's drive could be broken at startup if that turns out to be the wrong thing to do!

Most likely, though, there's a relief valve in the Gresen valve that would protect the pump IF this turns out to be the incorrect solution. If that is the case you would notice noise and engine loading and quick oil heating.

Is the pump that will be supplying that valve directly driven?

The loader pump is driven off front crank shaft thru chain cuppler. Steering gear pump drive off timing gear
