JD Disc Identification

I posted on the JD page, but no one has been able to answer. I am trying to identify a horse drawn disc. Painted JD green and yellow.
There are no JD's on the disc anywhere. Most of the part numbers start with K K x x x. (possible culprit of the previous post). I was thinking the KK was the part number prefix for the very early JD discs. Anyone know any details? If someone has the JD Part Number reference book, it might show the KK prefix on all the part numbers and tell the model of disc. I am fairly certain it is JD, just not positive...lol. Thanks in advance - Bob

yes that is a john deere horse disc. my dad bought that same disc new in the 1940's still have it.

The disc is indeed nice. New discs a few years ago when restored. Sitting inside since. Needs pulled in a sandy arena to scour up the discs again. They are not as bad as they look as far as rust goes.
It's just funny that there are no JD's cast in any of the parts. I wonder if the KK on the part number is from a different manufacturer, that JD bought out. Does anyone know the answer to that? Thanks again - Bob

From an old post in 2003:

Dan's mentioning of Killifer would be correct. Killifer (not sure of the spelling, could be Killefer) was a manufacturer of tillage tools that Deere partnered with and then bought out, I think.

It is a John Deere Model B Disk Harrow. They were made in sizes from 4 foot to 10 foot. Intended to be pulled by horses. They were made from the 1890's into the 1940's. Yours looks like a late one.

John Deere killefer built big heavy discs and panbreakers anf scrapers and John Deere also had their own line of discs way before killefer even thought of building his first implements which was a horse Drawn subsoiler or pan breaker
