Yazoo mower

Anyone have one or had one? Yay or nay? Any idea on what to offer? Says it runs rough. Looks like a handy and fun machine.

Don’t know anything about them other than my neighbor had one in the 1980s. I remember watching him mow and how fast he could turn around, an
early zero turn? I think the brakes are a simple plate against the tire tread which may not be too efficient, I know he put it in the pond once while
mowing along the edge.

40 years ago the company I worked for had one and used it as the main mower for about 12 acres. The drivetrain held up, but the rest of he machine just fell apart. Unless it's cheap
I'd keep looking.

40 year old technology that was problematic even when it was new. They tend to burn you legs up
with the placement of the motor and like the other poster the motor was probably the best part.
City Park department here had two and we were luck to keep one mowing most of the time.

Useless on hills or damp grass. A poor running Wisconsin doesn't help. Don't know if it helps, but I paid $1,300
for this mower in January. I would keep looking unless it was REALLY cheap.

friend had one got tired try keep it going , he now has one in the ferris brand operate very similar and you set clear on the rear also, one mowing machine. I would keep looking that unit is scrap price at best

Thank you for all the replies. I guess it looks more fun than it probably is. I don't need a mower yet but thought it looked fun but sounds like looking at it would be the only fun I would get and that would be shortly lived.

I had several. Engine was great, reverse was too fast, and was hard to adjust clutches. A friend said that if you had one, you could cut your mowing in half and if you had two, you didn't have to mow at all.

I saw a commercial for them that basically said that. I'm guessing the guys in the commercial had alot of practice before they filmed. Probably lots of retakes too. It would be more of a novelty if I bought it.
