Incredible Hay Weather

I don't recall ever seeing this before. We are on the fifth day of a predicted 11 day rain free stretch. I have my last three fields down right now. Our ground was dry coming out of the winter, but we then got a lot of rain from mid April through mid May, but very little since, so the ground is very dry now. The growth was very good early on, but there has been very little leaf added for the last month. As I was baling yesterday I stopped to check the weight of the bales periodically. I had to keep adding tension because they kept getting lighter as the day went on. I will be done way earlier than ever before, but if we don't get a lot of rain soon there will not be much of a second cut.

Had a lot of rain last week. But starting
last Thursday it's dried out and not
supposed to rain all week. Got 2 fields
cut and wish I had more. All that rain
made the places we cut look really good.
Nice 2nd cut coming up!

Don't believe the weather guessers, it's a trap.

Dropped 40 acres of hay Friday and Saturday, forecast (from 3 different sources) said highest percent chance of rain for 7 days was 15%

Woke up Sunday to a 60% chance of rain, wound up getting a 3/8 inch during the day.

Just waiting for things to dry out a bit more so I can start tedding.

I'm in Adams co. Ohio

We had 4 days of clear weather, low humidity and steady breeze about 2 weeks ago. Took a gamble and dropped everything that was destined to be
horse quality hay. Burned 3 days of vacation, but got all of it baled and in the barn. Some of the best hay we’ve ever made. Raining on and off since.
Lots of hay around on the ground getting drenched since. I think we got lucky.
