An easy way to get exercise

The Apple watch that my wife got me after I had my cardiac episode and died last winter links up to the Apple exercise app on my I-phone. Together they team up to make me aware of how much exercise I am or am not getting, so that I have to be always parking in the furthest away space and never taking elevators in order to keep up with my daily needs for miles of walking and to make sure that I get enough "cardio" where my heart pumps at an elevated rate. Well, today I had a relatively busy day of haying working in two fields about two tenths of a mile apart. All I did was drive tractors around the fields, climb up onto wagons a couple times and unhook and hook hay tools a couple times and WOW! I got double my normal amount of steps, and four times my normal amount of cardio exercise all while sitting on tractors. Who would have thought that you could get exercise so easily!

Glad your getting healthy ! I always park far away from the
store just because it’s less hassle. Funny thing though you I
noticed is the people who look like you they could use a few
more steps always fight for the close parking spots !
 
When I was working, they had Rally through work, if you answered the questions and did healthy stuff you could earn and extra $500/year. Had to keep track of steps for part of it. I found out that mowing set aside with the 1850 really racked up the steps for those days!!!
 
Yep. And some people put it on the washing machine if they have to show someone for insurance
and such. Total fake counters is all they are.
 
i try to park farther away because of people banging their doors into my car seems to closer to the store the more careless people are.
 
Turns out raking hay is good PT for the
right knee. Something about swinging the
foot from the axle to the brake pedals at
every end of the field on the SM.
 
I am a diabetic so have to watch my blood sugar levels and blood pressure closely with regular daily testing. For at least 25 years I have had a standing joke with my doctors that if they prescribed me old tractors instead of all the medication it would be cheaper and more beneficial.

Whenever I spend time on my tractors my blood pressure and my glucose levels are always much lower than normal so I have to carry sweets when working with them.
 
I hate to burst your bubble but watch your step counter while driving a tractor.I have a Garmin and when I do tractor work I
typically get 6-10k additional steps I really never took which translated into additional calories. I hope the Apple isn't as mine
is.

It has been obvious that tractor motion is read as stair climbing by the motion detectors in these devices. The steps appear however to be accurate. The cardio activity measurement comes from the watch reading the pulse as opposed to movement. It is not unusual to get over 100 flights of stairs in a day while doing field work, or while snowmobiling if the trails are a little rough.
