Heston bailer twine guide?

In the parts book the number is 7745003 and it is about $47. Looks just like a ceramic electric fence insulator that you can buy for a dollar a piece at a farm store. Any one tried this?

Yep, you've got it figured out!

IF you can find a good 'ol standard U.S. made porcelain corner insulator it'll work just fine.

I have rotated them in the mounts before when they get worn deep,, never tried a electric one,, only diff would be the flat spot the baler ones have is my guess,, or at least NH balers have a flat on them,, I never had a issue if they were not on the flat spot,,

a couple months ago I purchased a couple of those insulators from NH. There were 2 available, the ones for later balers had bigger holes in them. I checked my NH parts with the ceramic inculators and found the baler parts had bigger holes in them. No longer have flat spots on one side. That being said the Heston ones probably have bigger holes in the middle allowing for a knot to get through without hanging up.I have also done as mentioned, rotating them so the grooved side is away from where twine normally rides. I check these twine guides often as I hav found when you are making a tight bale any nike on th twine will often pop when the bale leaves the bale chamber.

you can probably grind a flat spot on the outside edges on a fine grinding wheel or an angle grinder.
