Looking for a wiring diagram for the wires from the fuel sending unit to the dash board only have 1 wire hooked up now I believe its the ground the hot wire is loose & there is no open post to connect it to??

There should only be 2 wires for the gauge to function.

A hot from the ignition, and a single wire to the sending unit.

If there is only one stud on back of the gauge, the other must be broken off.

The tank and sending unit case must be grounded. Usually the sending unit grounds through contact with the tank, either way the sending unit provides the variable ground to make the gauge move to the proper position.

If there are other wires or connections on the gauge, they are for the light (if equipped).
