Front mounted mower

I'm looking for recommendations on a good quality front mount lawn mower. I've been running a Stigas for a few years and I do like them for getting around trees and bushes, but they don't climb slopes very good. Also, the deck does not flip up for access to blades. I'm about fed up with the B&S motors in these Stigas. So I'm wondering about the Walker or Kubota but I think the best motors might be Honda, Kawasaki, or Kohler.
Any ideas or recommendations for a used machine about 10 years old?

I am on my third Scag front mount mower. Run them for 10 years and then either sell outright (the first) or trade in (the second). Briggs on the first, Honda on
the second, and a Kawasaki on the third. I have nothing bad to say about any of the engines. I would have gone with a Honda engine on #3 but Scag was no longer
offered as an option. The dealer says the Kawasaki is less fussy on oil than some of the others. This Scag most likely will outlive me. Nothing else for me.

The Walkers are very popular with the pros for doing the tight work. They seem to last forever, but I believe that they are very expensive.

I like the F series John Deere. F 725 is a Kaw liquid cooled,my F-932 is Yanmar powered. 725 and larger have differential locks.
The used ones are going for $2,000.00 and down around here.

As said the Walker Mower is expensive , but i get what you pay for . If there in the processing for a New Model they will make a running change & a retro kit to upgrade the pror models . I don`t work for the Company but worked for a dealer here in AZ. before I retired . Its a machine designed for a mechanic to work on .
The Diesel model didn`t work to well her in AZ , That was a few years ago ,may have that problem fixed .

I brought a well used Kubota F2100 Diesel at a Landscaper's auction 11 years ago. It has a 60 inch deck on it, also had a 72 inch
deck that went on it which they sold before they sold the unit. I was leaving the auction as they were selling it and it was going
cheap so I ended up buying it with hardly even looking at it. I was going to just resale it but liked it so well I kept it. It
still has the same belt on the mower that came with it. I've only replaced the water pump on it since I've had it and mow about a
acer with it and only put a little less than a 100 hrs a year on it. I did replace some woren linkage parts on the hydro on it last
year but only because my grandaughter was mowing with it would stick now and then. It has 3500 hundred hrs on it and is real good
on fuel and doesn't use any oil. The ser. number says its a 1992 model.

You might want to take a look at Grasshopper brand. Tough built, well engineered IMHO. Lots of engine and deck options. Good parts
availability, if required. Many parts available aftermarket or off the shelf from original suppliers. Your choice should consider dealer
location and support.

I have a Kubota and a JD. Had the Kubota (88) for 20 years. Just got the JD (01) in January. Both are FWD. Love them both. You need to get one with 4 wheel drive for your traction concerns. Grass hopper is a nice machine but not FWD.

use a Toro Groundsmaster with a Mitusbishi diesel and 72" ft cut that I bought 8 years ago. High hours low maint and was used hard on a golf course. I would do it again.
