Is Anyone Buying Anything

Just finished looking at May sales at the KUBOTA store , up about 4.5 % over last year and last year was a record , so yes things are still selling at some places. West Tennessee// Paper reported this morning that new cars sales were off 21% from same month last year/

I live three miles on a gravel road from a small town about 55 miles from Minneapolis MN. I just bought the wife a new pistol she has had wanted for some time.

A lot of new homes are being sold in our area. We live about twenty miles west of Phoenix. Many are people retiring as their are several 55 and older communities being developed. I read a while back where Buckeye, Az is the fastest growing city in the nation. My wife and I were involved in a serious automobile accident recently, fortunately nobody involved was hurt but we did have to replace our vehicle. Even as all dealerships seem to be heavily stocked with inventory we found that you still have to search for any kind of a discount bargain. Most offered discounts that would not even cover the sales tax. A person has to brace themselves for the sticker shock of a new, fairly well equipped full sized SUV. Anywhere from sixty five to one hundred thousand. Ended up dealing with the owner of the dealership and bought a year old Expedition that his wife had put a few miles on and I offered him twenty under the sticker. It took him a bit to except the offer but in the meantime we discovered we live about a mile from each other. I love dealing with people who can make up their mind and also have the authority to make the decision.

I went and picked up this brand new baler from the dealer on Saturday morning.

I’d like to believe I got a good deal on it because I had a very good trade in, and late model trades are a hot commodity. While new equipment, perhaps is a little slower than most years.
Is this the kinda stuff you are referring to??

Buying some wall cabinets to round out my kitchen remodel. Already put the base cabinets in and was thinking maybe some kind of rustic or artsy wall treatment with live edge wood shelves then decided no. Just ordered the cabinets to match the others.

Can use the wood somewhere else.

The two main Kubota dealers I deal with I can't even get in the door. I have to call and order my parts on the phone then they set them outside the door with my name on them for me to pick up. I've been thinking of upgrading my 2100 mower for a Kubota zero turn but I guess I'll wait until the Mi. governor lets them open the door again.

nice baler! ! i see it has a hitch on the back and the hay rack off behind it. kind of hard to handstack those bales on the rack!

RV sales are up 40 % from May last year. This includes small car towed campers to big self contained motor home campers and everything in between. People are planning how to vacation and stay socially distant away from crowds this summer so camping is the way many are going.

Every time I go to town to buy anything I can get very little of what I'm looking for. Friday I went to town to buy a sheet of plexiglass, some vitamins and a computer printer. None of the stores I went to had any of it. In hindsight I can understand the plexiglass because of the virus but not the rest of it.

I have been waiting for such opportunity but now, I'm not sure.

Plants have been shut down resulting in a shortage of new vehicles.

It will likely be awhile before things are sorted out.

Wife bought a new Ford from nearby dealer. He had to go 250 miles to a dealer to find the one she wanted. That dealer would not give it up unless he got one back in trade.

People are buying lots of local produce here in southern Indiana. We cant keep strawberries on the stand--sell out early every day, and have picked about 2,000 quarts in the month of May. Also sold couple hundred heads of lettuce early on. Looks like it could be a good produce year.

Here in the Northeast homes are selling very well. Sellers price them high and buyers will make offers above the asking price, and they are sold in just a day or two.

I know the reports say unemployment is high but things are flying off the shelf here. Home improvement supplies are a hot item. Lawn mowers, tractors, groceries, home decorations, well y'all get the idea. I assume its the $900/week unemployment money. Thats more than most were making to start with.

Yes, I was wondering about all kinds of stuff, including farm equipment. Good to know people are buying things, and life goes on....

My wife wanted to go to Menards last week for some stuff, I forgot where I left my old Zircon stud finder last time i needed it. The entire section of stud finders and most levels were sold out! I was lucky to find a lone one dumped on a shelf 10 feet away. Thought to myself, what are the odds?? However I didn't notice till got home that it had already been opened... Seems to work though. What craziness at the store though.

The virus was centered in a production area of China and things were shut down for a long while and some still are so expect a shortage of all sorts of tools and related things in the US in the future.

Daughter just sold her medium-priced house. 12 hours after listing it she had two bids for more than the asking price. She is buying another and her real estate agent told her he can hardly keep up. This is in central Kansas, near Wichita.

A friend of mine told me today her and her husband went to buy a refrigerator, and have to wait 10 days to
get it, because the stores are sold out.

That and the $1200 we all got from T. Family of six got $4400. Most people can't stand to have that much money rattling around in their pocket. One of my renters made me wait for rent last month until he
got his stimulus money. Him, her and 4 kids. He paid me rent $1050 then bought fancy wheels for the Tahoe, used Lincoln for the 16 yr. old son. and a Huendie for the daughter for graduation. Next rent
payment is due today. We'll see what happens.
