Binderson, I just saw your follow-up to your post a few days ago where you said your muffler (which has changed color) is non-magnetic while your straight pipe (which has not changed color) is magnetic. It seems to me that your muffler is made of a pretty high-grade stainless, probably 304. The pipe is probably 409 stainless, which has almost no nickel. Apparently it's the nickel that causes the golden color you see. I sure wouldn't replace that muffler, which probably set you back a few bucks. But if the color mismatch bothers you, I guess you could replace the straight pipe with a 304 pipe, that way the muffler and pipe would end up the same color.
