International 684

This should help. By the gear train diagrams it is a little difficult to tell which set of gears sets above that plate. It might be the TA if your tractor has one. You get to the other diagrams by clicking...back to the manual...you can view your whole tractors parts sections there. I did select the USA model, but there is also a British built 684. I will recommend viewing the parts page on a PC and not a phone, if you do it on a phone there is a learning curve, or at least this is true fot the iPhone. In particular once you select an individual part to veiw details on when you close that the diagram gets out of whack. You then have to use the slide bar below it to make it smaller and then reposition it and enlarge it by spreading two fingers. It can be frustrating.

If it's right under the clutch, it's an inspection plate. Takes 9/16 wrench I think. No hard in opening it, I pull the one on a smaller one in that series periodically to check for leaks.
