Fuel line banjo end washers

The black Stanadyne 16225 washers are extremely hard, and sometimes don't seal well like the soft copper 11354 washers older pumps used. My favorite is the mild steel CAV DPA 5936 332C as it will compress slightly, and seal like copper. The steel washers are used now because copper is much higher cost.

DT have you ever had some one use soft washer and the end of the bolt go in and lock the pump up. Had a guy tell me he had seen that done. We always kept the steel that has a nylon insert seemed to lock good and not leak.

I always liked the cooper washers. The Stanadyne washers always gave me problems. Not something you need in the middle of nowhere. But the last time I went to buy some. I had to sit down and think about it.

I ended up using aluminum washers on one the steel wouldn’t seal it had studs up through the pump a washer then the line then a washer then a 12 point nut

Using too thin washers, or leaving one off WILL seize the head and break the shaft, as Stanadyne bolts are longer and will bottom out, CAV DPA bolts are shorter to keep that from happening. SV got away with aluminum which should NEVER be used as his pump was the C model. Pumps I repair go out with the mild steel washers, get the bolt seated, then give each one 1/2 turn more, and you're done. Only time I use copper is when an outlet port is chipped, copper OD is slightly larger to seal where the port has damage and steel OD won't cover the chipped spot.

Not sure how to thin of washer Is going to ruin my pump I guess I got lucky it’s had the aluminum washers for 17 years now they still leak a tiny bit but the steal washers wouldn’t seal enough to let the tractor run at all they fuel would spray out of everywhere so this is what the shop gave me to try . Probably should get new lines I replaced the nuts and the aluminum washers sealed the best

The C pump won't seize with the wrong washers like the D series pumps will since it uses studs with cap nuts. The CAV DPA mild steel washers work well on the C series pump too. If your injector opening pressure was higher the aluminum would fail where steel would hold.

I would like to get them to seal all the way but haven’t had any luck finding brass or copper washers the right size they are a shade smaller than 3/8 . Is the pump everyone hates

The 3/8 ID washers work on that pump too, same as the D series uses. Stanadyne #11354, but be sitting down when you price them. Why I use the CAV DPA mild steel 5936 332C best..

Harbor Freight sells a plastic box of copper sealing washers with sizes from 1/4" to 1/2" for cheap money. They are smaller OD, almost the size of AN washers, so I use them where I would use the AN type which I can't get around here.
