Kubota lawn mower

My neighbor has a B7100 HST riding lawn mower. It is over heating. The belt is not turning the fan. I have never messed with a Kubota and don't know much about them. Is there a fan bearing that is seized or would it be the water pump. Or both???? If you can help me out with a little info I would appreciate it. Thanks, Ellis

If the belt is tight sounds like the water pump. I had a similar problem with my Kubota mower after 3500 hrs. A new water pump solved my problem. Called a kubota dealer and it was 200 bucks. Brought one on-line for 60 bucks. That was three years ago and its still going.

Are you saying the fan belt is turning but the fan will not spin so it is over heating???

If so the bearing in the dynamo is frozen.
Kubota's word for alternator.
The tractor does not have a water pump.
That piece behind the fan is the dynamo.
You can rebuild it with new bearings or just replace the whole unit.

The other poster has it right his dyno is locked up pretty common, folks come in and inst that there water pump is locked up but the B 7100 has one water pump. Pretty good job but bearings will usually get it going.

So what pully is the fan belt slipping on????

If the crank pully is turning it could be the dyno pully has a better grip on belt.
You will need to take the belt off and try and hand turn the fan to see if it is locked up.
If nothing; including the crank pully are not turning the key on the crank pully is broken.

I keep going back to the dyno because it is the most common.
But you either have a broken key on the crank or something is froze up preventing the belt from turning.

If it's a diesel dont overheat it. Once there hot the motor its junk. I just tore an rtv down that the radiator was plugged with mud and cracked the head and scored a cylinder.

Tried to answer yesterday, had it written , storm come through wiped out my internet.

NO water pump, mine did the same. not a bad job.
