We travel quite a bit but try to avoid Florida. We've never seen a rocket launch and it's on our bucket list.

Any help on do's and don'ts would be appreciated.

The next launch is SpaceX mission a on May 27.
Unfortunately they are not opening the Kennedy Space Center until the 28th. Due to nnalert 19 fears.
You might only be able to get as close as the town of Titusville on the west back of the indian river.
From there you can try getting further east.

It is on my bucket list also and I am only 3 hours to the west.

go ,,. We went to space shuttle launch that got delayed for 55 minutes then SCRUBBED
,,.Found out from the picnic crowd that in a few evenings they would be sending up a
satellite,,. Got to see that blast off 2 miles away ,, very neat ,,. 28 yrs ago .My
Kids boast today that Dad took US every where .

We live in Titusville and watch most of the liftoffs from our front door. We are 12 miles due west of the Space Center. Locally they are
telling us NOT to try to get closer because of the expected crowd from around the world. Just an ordinary liftoffs usually has a big crowd,
but this one is going to be way above ordinary. It certainly is an impressive sight and I am not a big "space nut", but do enjoy watching it.

I think the Kennedy Space Center website says this will be the first manned launch of a space craft from American soil since July 2011.

I imagine every investor over some certain amount will have been invited to attend.
This launch is the first spacex launch with astronauts and perhaps will make or break the companies future viability.

Weather is not looking the greatest for launch day.

Do you know anything about Playlandia Beach National Park? I read where you can walk the beach and be within 5miles of launch, don't know how long of a walk though. Is the National Park limiting visitors?

A few years ago, probably 15 or so already, I was feeding calves outside shortly after dawn one pleasant morning .I suddenly saw what looked like a comet in the SSE sky, rising vertically from the horizon, disappearing briefly and then reappearing a bit higher at an angle. I thought "what the heck was that?" Heard later that day on the news that there was a rocket launch from a facility at Chincoteague VA.
Didn't know that there's a launching facility there.
I'm in western PA.

Playalinda is actually in the Cape Canaveral National Seashore.

Which is closed due to covid19 fears.
