Thank you for helping me out. I have a grandmother who is 94, and she needs a cell phone. We are looking into a Jitterbug phone for her, but non of the people I know have any experience with it. If you have one, what are your thoughts? Is it easy to use? Loud enough? etc. Thank you again.

A couple years ago I was where you seem to be. My wife didn't like the iPhone with it's super sensitive touch something anywhere. So, I looked at Jitterbug at Best Buy. Sales person said they had similar phones - lots cheaper - do the same thing. I bought in. Then had to select a "phone company" to provide service- I picked one. Wife wanted to have the old phone number from our black phone days. We transferred it to our "new" phone service.
In a few months it was obvious that nobody was calling on our obsolete number, and wifey wasn't using the Jitterbug look-alike. So, I cancelled the phone company service. What I didn't know was that I gave up our "rights" to that number when I signed up with them. So, if grandma wants to keep her old number - be careful of this issue - when signing up.

Look into Consumer Cellular. Low cost basic no contract plans and they offer jitterbug phones, free I think or real cheap.

Had a cell phone years ago but never used it much--Had the land line and business band mobile radios in tractors and combines plus hand helds so got rid of cell phone--the Wife had hers and could usually call her if I needed too. But got a Jitterbug 3 months ago--250 minutes--if you don't use them they get added to next months--camera--plus other for $21 a month--all I need--It works good enough for what I want--I like it--CHEAP---Tee
