Brent's crazy letter.

This past weekend wrote a letter to a friend. title it I am sorry I have been out of it. Yes I have spent to munch time in the shop. People tell me it is a man cave ? Really. I spend every day in there breaking bolts, cleaning parts and painting them. The refrigerator is filled with Pepsi, Dr. Pepper and Beer. I have gotten to know my UPS person by there first name and my FED/EX people by there first name too. They show up at least three times out of a week with parts in hand. Yes I have to admit it but a hobby like mine is very demanding. It keeps be away from all this computer crap I read every day on Face book. I am lucky they tell me I get high on primer, paint and many other things every day. I do have an excuse it is some thing to do besides seat on my lazy but watching T.V. I hope your world is doing good and I hope that every body is fine and dandy. I keep spending Money but some how I understand when you die you can not take that with you (so enjoy). My hobby tractors, Farm Equipment and yes Automobiles. so yes I been out of it but I want to ask what is this (virus) about? Take care my friends and be well.

Gotta stay sane! My cousin who is not retired is grateful I'm willing to work on his tractors. I told him it keeps me busy, gives me satisfaction, and I'm spending HIS money. Well, not on the Gatorade and beer. Keep on keepin on.

Brent..... The world is good for most folks, because it is what you make out of it. Good to hear that you are still creative in your work on tractors, farm equipment, and old cars. Oh..... You may want to water that tree in your side yard. Looks sorta dry. Stay well. Wingnut

Everyone needs something they like to do. Glad you can enjoy & afford what you are doing. Looks like your hobby is much better than trying to grow a garden in your area.

Some folks handle things better than others that?s for sure. My sisters boy just spent 72 hours in the psychiatric hospital after he became unraveled, and went a little off his rocker. He is a care giver in a seniors home, fair big lad, lifts old folks into and out of beds, wheel chairs, baths and that sort of thing. Too many sick people around him, and he kinda loss his sense. Not everyone can handle stress well.

The virus you have is the same one 95% of the contributors on this site are afflicted with. We would not have it any other way. Love the view. Jim

Nice photo, and good to hear that you're keeping busy ...... but your statement (I edited one word) ...

""It keeps me away from all this computer crap I read every day on Face book".

....... leaves me scratching my head a bit.

Good to hear from you, I love that place, pretty sure I found it on google earth , nice mountains for sure

Poppies: good question. I had seeded a lot of the area but man did the rabbits, quail, and other wild life enjoyed the seed. Not one so far have came up. My next attempt to reseed and replant will be in areas that I can try to keep the wild life out of and see if I can get some up. I had failed on a big area so I have to make is simple and do small areas on the property. Thanks for asking. Never accept failure because you have really learned to keep trying.

I was waiting on somebody to read that line. I use to be a public servant and on face book most of my people on that site are from my job as a custodian in a school system. Some people would not know my job was in Cleaning up after people. I can say I have great respect for gems, and cleaning chemicals. So on face book I get a lot of teachers and working people in education posting things. Since I am retired from that job and doing what I enjoy doing on tractors. I have to say face book is great but some times people can make matters worse. When a virus or some thing breaks out. So on my face book page I try to keep an open mind and be fair on what I read. Yes this is a bad virus but we all have to respect what we do and how to stay healthy.
that is one of my points on computer and reading on face book.

Nice to hear from you to Jim. As you can see I got winter & spring cabin fever over here. Wanting to go kayaking on a lake. yes maybe even go fish a stream but the sad part is this stay at home order. I moved here because I was close to the mountains, lakes, and other out doors life I love. I have heard that maybe we have a lifted order. that camping, fishing and kayaking is okay. Boy I hope so because I am planning to get some thing going next month. Love my out door activities.

Hi Bruce: I first have to say people like him are the soul of helping all of us in a task we clearly can not do. The work is demanding work and to be there all the time for a person who is in need. I should know this because my Mom had All timers and was in a place because dad could not have the metal health to help here. So I know the work he does. To understand that virus and other conditions do happen but in a perspective that what life is about. to say good bye to parents that do past on means to understand that life is hard but in a way sweet to live it. that is what I have learned in my life. My favorite words are Money is some thing you can not take with you when you die. so try to make the best out of your life while living it. Thank you for your posting it was nice to read it.

Hi dcarp: Please I have not stop trying to gardening L.O.L. If you fail than try again I heard that saying. right now I am happy to report I have onions , garlic, and some what trying to get carrots and radishes growing. Next month I will be back with cucumbers using a shade cloth to keep them I hope. We will see what happens. thanks for the post.

I hear ya Brent. I taught school for 31 years, high school, junior high and in a detention facility. One thing I learned early on was that you didn't have much choice as to who your principal would be or what kind of a person he/she was, that was out of your control for job satisfaction. But the one thing you did have control over was to treat the school's support staff with respect and courtesy, talk with them every time you see them in the halls with at least a hello and if possible, check in with their lives in the community and with their family. So that would be teacher special needs helpers, secretaries, tradesmen who came and went, but MOST important of all were the care taking custodial staff. Make friends with them right away, show them friendship and your life in the school will be a dream. They'll bend over backwards for you and never let you down should you need help with anything. I had some who confided in me that there were some teaching staff that had never spoken a word with them.

I read one the other day that hit close to home and from reading your post probably fits you pretty good as well;

You realize just how anti social you are when a pandemic breaks out and nothing much really changes. :D

Hey wingnut: thanks for telling me I need to water that poor tree. I water all the time and it is starting to comes back this summer but that poor tree loses all the leaves every fall. Still on tractors and yes you are right I am doing full restoration work to them all. I have this problem trying to understand people. They do not understand doing it right but instead they understand doing it wrong. It is some times sad to say we who love our hobbies care to munch. Yes I am still doing what I love to do and I am enjoying this hobby. Thanks for your replay.

Good replay but so true. I am retire but learned a lesson from parents. My mom had past away due to All timers. I have this thought to keep myself thinking and going. to be retire we have the time to help others that need our help. Need less to say we all need to keep our self busy in tasks that require us to think. I may spend all money on tractors in my life but I am not going down in the All timers position as I grow older. Every day has to be filled with a task and a challenge at hand for tomorrow do list. I personally love challenges and helping others. What you are doing is great I only wish I had more people like you on this computer telling me what you are up to next. Keep up the good work and enjoy life.

You know you bring up a good point. I only moved out in the sticks because I ounce lived in a small town. It grew up to be a very big town wiping all of us farmers and country people out of it. I had a home that one time had cows around it. When I sold it I had 550 apartments wrapped around it and the university was going to take me to court to get the land. I can say I sick of having a lot of people around me. I am truly home know. A small town with about 250 people in it (that is not enclouding the Indian reservation we have to).
