My old Fergie

I found another ollie last night l that got my blood pumping. Today I was thinking I would sell Harry my TO30. I decided to get it moved out of the weeds to get it cleaned up. Well I got it moved but I changed my mind before I got it started. Sniff..sniff. Dog gone it just sits around most of the time but it is my first tractor.

I got mine out the other day to pull this rented wood chipper through my windbreak. I had a row of dead trees that we cut down and needed to chip a bunch of branches. I got Dad's old swinging drawbar out to pull the chipper. I'll bet it's been 45 years since it's been on a tractor. We used it a lot to pull disks and harrows so they wouldn't come up on the back tires on a sharp turn in the field.

Neat looking hitch. I have never seen one. I took one off a 600 ford buy I didnt like it. Think it was to low for raking and tending. That first summer was interesting with the underslung exhaust! Even after I put exhaust out the top I would smell burning hay occasionally.

It took me a small while to figure out how that bottom pin went in and out. Kind of neat technology for 1951. I mowed a lot of hay with this tractor years ago. Dad had a couple Ferguson 30's and we would put Dearborn mowers on both and mow all morning and stack hay from a couple of days back each afternoon.
