Massey Ferguson backhoe

Picked up an old Massey Ferguson backhoe.
It is just the backhoe attachment. Would
like to make it work on one of my 3010s.
Have a plan to make it rigid mount so it
isn't hanging on the 3 point. Question is
on the valve body is it open or closed
center? And what would this single hose
coming out of the back be for? Will
probably use a pto pump for hydraulics.

I would think that it is open center. Massey equipment is all open center to my knowledge. Industrial could have been different.

Simple way to tell if it's open center, be sure all the control handles are in the neutral position, wrap a rag around your blow gun, blow into the pump line.

If air flows through to the return line, it's open center. If it dead heads against the valve body, it's closed.

Not sure what the single hose is for, what does it go?

If you can find the model tag or otherwise identify the model; the MF parts books may provide clues about things, even if the parts themselves are not available. As rlp in Co. posted, some pictures may help.

Does that hose hook to the end section of the valve body, or piping to the end section of the valve bank, on the other side of the plate? Seating in the seat, positioned to operate the hoe, that is at the right end of the valve bank, correct? Picture of the end of the valve it connects to might help.

Stabilizers are vertical. I think I found where it goes. There's a hose block under the seat that swings the boom it has an open hole looks like it would go there. Yes This hose comes out of the right side of the valve body. This may be all for nothing as it is quite a bit heavier then I thought. Hooked it to the three point just so I could move it around and I can't lift it. I don't think I want that much weight hanging on my tractor for no more then it will be used. Trying to load over all pic but site is being wonky now.

The back hoe is made by Davis. Should be a serial number/model plate on the seat assembly. Should be a model 220. Open center. Last time I checked MF had some parts available
