The 2020 HPOCA National Summer Show set for Greenville, IL on July 24-26 has been cancelled. The cancellation came after the American Farm Heritage Museum cancelled the Heritage Farm Days.
A quiet summer is on tap for us...sadly.

Probably going to be that way with all the organizations- just got a brief bulletin from the Hudson Essex Terraplane club, listing the regional and national events, all cancelled.

Dumb moves being made all over funny how we have shopped all along and no out breaks,, I get it some are scared out of their minds due to media hype,, very sad, its being swallowed hook line and sinker so easy,,

Probably for many events the concern for liability financial and otherwise was too much too ignore. I know the area show around here has a paper thin margin to work with and does not have tens of thousands of dollars to deal with law suits.

Probably for the best. Small turnouts are all that can be expected in 2020. That will make fund raising very difficult this year.

That sucks, it's kinda silly that the fun stuff is getting canceled but just the other day they started opening the excercise gyms here. Makes no sense to me at all!

I suppose the point of view of us all as individuals changes dramatically from one region to the next. Where you live , the population density is very low, and because this sickness is spread person to person , the fewer people there is to infect, the less the risk posed to you getting the infection. Where I live in the shadow of an urban area of 6 million, the number of positive cases and deaths becomes much more real, than just hearing about something that isn?t having direct impact on folks in your community. 29 seniors have died in a home in our county. Many health care workers have been sickened, as well as folks working in processing plants. It becomes much more real when it is in your back yard. Many fall fairs and tractor shows and livestock shows and sales have been canceled here. Partly because organizations realize a good part of the people who attend these events are seniors, and if the seniors won?t go , or volunteer to work the events, they will be a bust if they do try to run them.

Bruce ,, well said and like you said it only depends on where one is and how many chances do you take. Me I want to stay around awhile..

But on the other hand, there was a 93 yr old WW2 vet that had the virus, and lived thru it, it was on National News, the day they let him go home from the hospital. He is one tough guy!

Then, think about it. What is the potential of someone - anyone, carrying the virus. Stay safe, stay healthy.

I agree 1000%...The Adrian,MO tractor show normally held in late June has moved back a month and they are going to try and have it..I'll be there with several tractors.
