After cleaning the inner shaft and wire wheeling it I ended up using corn
head grease on it. Works good now. There is no fitting, and I don't think
the outer shaft wall is thick enough to put one in it. It was pretty
neglected by the previous owner. Thanks for everyones responses.

When I bought our 3 pt. auger the drive shaft had been neglected that way, but worse. I hooked it up between 2 trees with a come-a-long, put about 1,000 pounds of tension on it, started heating and tapping. Pretty soon it popped apart, I cleaned it up and it's been fine ever since.

it has been my experience that whatever I use, I need to plan to pull it apart, clean it up good, and re lube occasionally.

I have a 4 spinner rotary hay tedder with one of those triangle foreign pto shafts. I have to oil it good every time I use it and pull it completely apart before winter storage if I want to get it a part without a fight the next spring. Tom
