Class . Today we are dissecting a wix filter .

Not sure about the hard plastic ?seal? that goes between the filter head and the filter itself looks like dirty oil could bypass the filter

I thought wix was about as good as you could get. Its what I always use.

I thought so to but the fleet guard has a rubber seal between the filter and the head

All that ?seal? really does is eliminate the possibility of a rattle from the filter while supplying a place for the cartridge to be put on during assembly. A filter does not screen 100% of the oil.

wix are worthless to me,, would not use one on something I hated,, just like using cheap junk oil

I?m not happy at all looks like half the oil bypasses the filter unlike the better filters that only bypass when the element gets plugged
