1943 Case SC air cleaner oil cup

Howdy fellas, new guy here. I just acquired a 1943 Case SC in running and operating condition. However, in order to use it for what I need, i need some new parts. One of those parts happen to be an oil cup for the oil bath air cleaner. The one on it is completely roached, with two grape sized rust holes through the bottom. I have searched everywhere, even consulted the biggest Case parts dealer in Michigan, and still no oil cup. That Case dealer told me to come here. So here I am.

Try Steiners, in your state. they have everything
Try a good wrecking yard (for tractors) many will fit.

Don Livingston probably has one some place. He posts here once in a while. The way they snap in place makes them rather unique.

Yeah, it has a clip that swings down underneath it with a little rubber wheel in the middle.

I'd say that nobody is going to have those as a new part ..... you're going to have to find a used one somehow, a lot of those were made by Donaldson, I suspect that a number of different makes used an air cleaner with a similar sized cup.

If the top part is still good, could the bottom be cut off and a new bottom be fabed and brazed/soldered on?

Somebody borrowed? mine. You could braze
some patches on. You could use your's for a
pattern and make one out of fiberglass. You
could spin one out of aluminum.

I second Gene's suggestion for a fiberglass repair. Woven mat or random mat, either would work. At least two layers, maybe three thin ones if using random mat.

Don't know much about the Sc but if you post a pic and the
outside diameter and depth I'm sure I can get one at my local
salvage yard.

Outside diameter is approximately 5 and a half inches. It's about 3and half inches deep.

Call these guys, they should have one. (320) 355-2500 Gotvald imp. It they don't have one let me know I'll go look at the other place. But that won't be for a week or so. Gotvalds is a good place and should ship it to you. If not I can get it and ship it. The other place won't ship so I will have to go look for one and ship it.
