Gledhill Road Grader

I'm looking for someone that has a 1950's era Gledhill Road Grader that could share some detailed pictures for comparison to the one that I am currently trying to resurrect. I have some questions regarding its original assembly configuration. My road grader does not have the original sulky wheels in the front as it has been converted to tractor drawbar hook-up. But something is missing. As currently configured, all of the load created during grading is put on a 5/8" dia bolt at the main pivot point in the front. The bolt that I removed was nearly worn in half due to the shear load.

Best I can determine is that my Gledhill Road Grader resembles a model 7A.

I think what is missing is a bushing that allows the greater diameter of the hole in the tongue, to pull on the tube sticking up below it. this would cause the bolt to mearly hold the joint together vertically. Just guessing. I have a 1925 er Adams leaning wheel, that we have pulled the sulkey out from under. Not fun. Jim

I have quite a few pieces of sales literature for Gledhill equipment , road shapers and road graders , etc.

contact me and we can correspond
