Hard to get pictures of Pileated woodpeckers.....they are quite common here in NY state but also quite elusive.
They have a distinctive call while flying and I see them regularly going back and forth across my valley.
I zoomed in on yours a bit.
They are almost as big as a Mallard and it is obvious that the famous "Woody Woodpecker" with the long neck is patterned after one.

I had YouTube once even had 58 subscribers but I got tired of google phishing and selling my information every time I would sign in the spam calls would increase a 100% sign out and they would stop .
