why try it?

hey guys,so I was at the dealer the other day getting parts for my mower, and as I was getting part numbers together in the truck, when this $100,000. pickup and camper combo pulls next to me in the parking lot,and just to clarify the camper was a smaller toy hauler probably 20ft long and I see the guy go in the dealer and bring out the salesman and a dealer mechanic.so then the guy opens the back of the camper, pulls out a mtd branded JD that I heard from the dealer he was getting $900 for,by trading it for a $20,000 MF compact loader tractor.so after I got my parts I went in my truck and matched up the parts I bought, when I look to my side, this guy was trying to load the tractor in the camper, and as he did so,i saw the ramp start to bend and the sides of the ramps where stretching.by the time he got it up there,it was sticking out 3ft even after they took the bucket off trying to shove it in.what surprises me the most beside, the fact he traded a MTD mower for a MF compact tractor,is that he spent that kind of money and didn't come prepared to bring it home or get the dealer to haul it.i have to say, after all that i kinda felt bad for the guy.so anyhow, what kind of crazy road hazards have you folks come across?

Probably a customer too cheap to pay for delivery working with a salesperson too stubborn to offer free delivery. Thing of it is, if dealership personnel helped him load it in an unsafe way, or something happens on the way home, the dealership can be liable for damages.

Yep and this is the same guy that spends nights in Wally-world lots because he's too "tight" to pay $25.00 for a night in a certified camp ground.

And to think I get laughed at by the guys at the rental yard when I show up with a 50t detach to pick up a mini excavator.

Have spent more than one night in a Wal Mart parking lot and hopefully will many more time before I leave this world. Being cheap, not wanting to spend $25 does not even enter the equation.

If Wal Mart does not mind, nay, even welcomes RV'ers, what is your problem?

Toy haulers are intended for hauling motorized toys of various sizes. He apparently wasn't aware how heavy or long the tractor was going to be. There are many people that are just not aware of that sort of thing but they are a whole lot better than me at other things.

I work for a lawn equipment dealer. You would be amazed at the number of customers who will drop $6000+ on a new mower and show up with no idea how they will strap it down for the ride home.

One I remember vividly drove a Volvo wagon, pulled one of those $250 42" x 48" Harbor freight trailer kit trailers and tied his $5,000 Husqvarna to it with old ropes. The mower hung off all 4 sides of the trailer.
