I have a Stebel nautilis LOUD horn that I want to install on a John Deere 5045d tractor but don't have the relay for it anymore.Does anyone know if I must use a relay and how do I hook
up this horn?thanks. i'm not much of an electrician

It's best to use a relay, especially on a high amp draw accessory like horns.

If it's going to connect through the switch in the steering wheel a relay is necessary as all the switch can provide is a ground.

This is a typical generic diagram using a universal 12v relay available at any auto supply. The power wires need to be 12 gauge, the wire to the switch can be smaller.
