Cracked cylinder head update

Thanks to everyone who gave me info on where to call for cylinder head repair. Luckily I was put in contact with a salvage yard that had a magnafluxed and guaranteed bare head for $150 but would probably need new guides and seats. So I have it ordered and on the way. My local machine shop said that seats would not be a problem for them and I already have all new valves, guides and springs for it.

That's what I thought too when he told me the price and it was guaranteed, I immediately said I'll take it.

Will you have your shop mag and pressure check it before they do the seats and valves?

Definitely so, even though it's guaranteed it'll be checked by my local machine shop as he's done several for me and he always checks them before he does any work.

Yeah, it's a grand total of $218 with
shipping. That's much cheaper than driving
almost 2 hours for another one in the same
condition for $525 exchanged. And I get to
keep the old one
