Flat spot on trailer tire

Time for a new tire. That's to the
electric brakes. I think I got my moneys
worth.

The tire has a flat spot all right. I don't think it takes time much to rub off some rubber when the brakes lock up. Stan

if it was from the brakes wouldn't the flat spot be all the way across the tire or a least centered??

Yes, in a perfect world!! But with improper tire pressure, possible bent axle, worn bearings, bent rims... the list goes on... reality and perfect world are two totally different things...

my trailer tires never developed a flat spot like that---I do adjust the trailer brake controller to the load on the trailer to minimize lock ups

No only one flat spot. I know when I did. Had brakes set for a 3 plus ton load, trailer was empty and I had to stop real fast for an ambulance at intersection. Brake stopped me.
George.

Tire is riding on just those three ribs. Readjust camber on the wheel when you get new tire mounted. A few pounds less pressure when you see all the wear in the middle of a tire.

A tired old bias trailer tire could very well have a crowned tread face when it is properly inflated. Forgetting to turn the trailer brake voltage back down when the trailer is light happens to all of us. That flat spot could have been made years ago but wasnt noticeable until the tread wore down.

(quoted from post at 18:14:11 04/09/20) These are 15 inch tires.
on't worry about it, Geo, it is more than obvious by now, that whatever you post, it will be criticized!

If they are duals just turn one tire on the rim/wheel so they are not in the same place will let you finish wearing the tire out.
