Chevy 1500 spare tire

I need a spare tire for the new to me 99 Chevy 1500 I got from my son in law. 6 bolt 16" rims. I called a salvage yard and he said they have lots of Chevy rims off of 4x4 1500's. Are the rims the same for 2 wheel vs 4 wheel drive pickups? Thanks, Chris

Should be the same, I think they were all 6 bolt rims by then.

The bolt pattern will be the same, but it may be wider.

Ask them to look it up in there Hollander book. It is a parts interchange book that all major salvage yards have.

Drums or discs brakes in back can make a difference on some gm.

1999 and after 6 lug are all the same, as long as its the correct diameter for you, same bolt pattern, same width, same backspacing, 4wd or 2wd.

Just checked used parts and 3 different model 1500 trucks with around a dozen different styles. To find what would fit need more model information. Silverado 11999 up, 1500 1988-1999, and avalanch. annd style of wheel Lugs, painted, steel or aluminm that and your zip I can find out what is avaible in your area.
