Where to find Hyd pump drive shaft

8N Ford with a loader/backhoe. Front driven hyd pump. I ordered a hub and shaft a while back and just getting around to fixing it. Shaft they list for the 8N is 13 inches long but the one I pulled off is more like 9.5 inch long. 6 spline also. Any how Y-T does not list a 6 spline 9.5 shaft which is where I did get the new parts I have. So where do I find the one I need so I can get this backhoe back up and running

You might give Baum Iron a call. 1-800-228-9222. I think they are in Omaha, Neb. They have hydraulic pumps and parts.

The thing that get me is I know the bad on I have now I order from Y-T years ago but now they do not list the same one

Cut the shaft off and have a new keyway cut on the end opposite the splined end.

Someone nearby surely has a milling machine?

If not, simply drill a "pocket" in the shaft for the setscrew in the coupling half to enter and "grab", or two if there's two setscrews.

Right now I cannot get out of my driveway due to a big mud pit in the driveway. I am trying to get this up and running so I can use it to work on the driveway. I have thought about the drilling thing but would prefer to have the correct part

That one sounds like the one I need. Thanks. I had looked in the 8N and the 2N and the 841 area but did not find one so gave up

Seems like I sent you a complete pump and shaft off of a Ford engine about 4 years ago!!!
