Social Distancing on the Farm

Hope everyone is well. Knock on wood, the Coronavirus hasn?t visited myself or my family - yet...

At my day job, several of us who can work from home have been asked to do so - to provide some distance from us to other workers and those that remain who can?t work from home, it kind of thins the herd so to speak.

So I?m on the farm working via laptop computer, phone and email.

I made a video chatting about this and some farm talk too. Below is the link.

Hope everyone is able to stay clear off this virus and sees minimal impact from it from a finance, job and day to day needs.

Very relaxing to watch and listen from Minnesota. You mention "up here in the mountains of Virginia". What is the approximate location? I'm a real geography guy and always am interested in locations, locations, locations. Are the buildings in the background yours?
I look at your baling videos sometimes. I always enjoyed baling when we lived on an acreage. Now I'm living in a city and feel a bit hemmed in.

Thank you.

Very interesting video. If the water flows through your land do you have access to it? You got a raise on the gas you saved by not driving to work. Stan

Yes - we have access to the water. That creek runs along the length of one side of the farm.

Indeed - saving a lot of money on gas and wear and tear on the cars.

Bill I have kin around Roanoke. Know about baling hay on them there mountains. Was there for 2 weeks summer of 76 or 77 can't remember which. Like your video's. RB

Automobile gasoline was $1.59 per gallon at Sam?s
club today. St. Louis area.
I heard on the news a barrel of oil is down to $5.00.
Some stations may close if the price goes negative.

Ha Ha!

It won't fall below the tax.

Couple of observations- You could probably have caught a couple of trout in that creek in the time it took to make the video. And if you normally have a 1 1/2 hour commute to work, I'd sure be polishing up my pitch to continue to work from home after this deal blows over. Maybe 2 or 3 days a week, but anything would be an improvement over that commute.

We?re getting ready to buy diesel with these low prices. Also fertilizer follows oil prices, might be a good time to buy ahead.
