99 Chevy Power Window Update

The switch was bad. I have a 02 Chevy that I plan to sell, so I took the switch out and tried it, and the window works, kinda slows and drags a little in the middle of the cycle but goes on up and down. The passenger window was working before, wife and I ran to Farm & Fleet and drove it. I ran her window down and it only came back up 1/2 way, she had to pull up on the window to get it to close. I have a new switch coming from Napa, be here Tuesday, so I will switch them again and put new one in the 99. I have the new motor, I'll switch them later when it's warmer. Is there anything I can lube the window tracks with?? Thanks, Chris

the regulator and hardware use spray lithium grease. for the run channels, either silicone spray lube or sly-glyde silicone grease. napa has syl glyde.

My experiences with GM pickup windows has been that when the windows seem to get a slow spot in their travel it is from the lift cables getting corroded inside the jacket. Eventually the cables break from the rust. For as much work as it is to replace just the motor, I would replace the whole motor/regulator assembly.

Use silicone spray on the window tracks and the rubber. I use it on my Mustang and the windows go up and down so smoothly after I spray the rubber channels. Available at most auotmotive supply .
