Just waiting for a show now.

my club has a plow day in November. hopefully I'll use it then. I say hopefully because we've been rained out the last 2 years.

Looks good. How hard does that plow pull compared to a moldboard plow? Disc plows are uncommon in this part of the country and I don?t have any experience with one, don?t know that I ever see one used around here.

I have a 4 bottom 3 pt. as well.....gotta have dirt in the FEL to keep the 65 hp (4wd) tractor level when airborne....black clay....moldboards gum up, rolling stock resists it pretty well. When I moved here, local guy, long since retired, had several JD Styled Bs (as I recall) and one of them was permanently tied to a 2 bottom like yours. He was running a hundred acres and would plant Blackeyed Peas in the spring and when mature, just roll them over. Invited the neighbors to come and pick what they wanted before he buried the plants. One year he planted we were in a drought. Not one rain drop touched a plant and he made a reasonable harvest......that's soil condition!

Interesting,i got about 5 acres of tough soil on a quarter, i use to seed piper sedan grass when it dried up in last of June, and it would grow up 7 feet tall, plow it down, but the last 10 years it's been under water!

Real nice John. We had a Ferguson version my dad kept around the place to plow our garden and for terraces. A triple disk version was commonly seen on AC and JD farms.
I remember an old saying about them...plow all day and pee across what cha plowed.....
here?s an AC version pic.

I have been looking for a 2 bottom Ferguson torpedo plow. There was one for sale at Temple a few years back but the guy wanted way too much for it (on second thought maybe not). Before I painted it I pulled it in the little bit of dirt I have and it pulls nice. Especially with all the rocks that come up. I'll use it at our plow day then repaint the discs if necessary. hope to see you in temple in the fall.

Mean looking set up, nice. I've never seen a disc plow in N. Illinois that I remember. What's it used for, rocks, brush, swamp???
