gas fittings

I go to the best NAPA parts counter I can find, and let them advise me. I've found there are various qualities of NAPA stores, but luckily I have a really good one.

My personal favorite is the premade steel brake lines.

They come with perfect double flares already in place. Most factory plumbing is already there to fit the flare fittings, if not, find the adapters and keep the flares. Some late models (50 years or so newer) may be British threads, check carefully.

The lines are designed to be easily formed without kinking.

The steel is less conductive of heat, less likely to vapor lock, but still try to route it away from the exhaust.

Try to avoid any rubber splices or inline filters. They are weak areas, prone to rot, get mouse chewed, and a minor fire will quickly escalate if a hose or plastic filter is involved.

I agree. Adapters made to quality standards to fit existing fitting threads should be used. There are also really nice alloy brake lines that do not rust usually copper nickle alloy.

i called my uncle who is a air plane mechanic,,he said they use the blue tape..........it worked very good.....thanks dewy
