Just starting out of the ground wanted people to see the finished product . I plowed two years ago and last year I ran the pang breaker and then disked and that ground was so mellow and soft I couldn?t believe it

Thanks . Also been to the buffalo ranch to see how that field looks and I think I can run the tool carrier with 16 inch wheat land sweeps maybe twice with the harrow behind and it?ll be ready to drill . The winter decomposed the residue just like I had hoped it would .

Looks good!! Almost looks like Timothy in first pic, I never heard of triticale, I?ll have to look it up, nice looking cows too. I miss calf?s a little and foals a lot more. One farm I worked on foaled out 120 a year.
My friend has 11 charlos calf?s I?m thinking of getting one to raise a few years than put in the freezer, I put a Hereford jersey cross steer in the freezer that I?m still working on. Was 1300 live weight, I think we got around 680# of meat back,

We did triticale variety testing years ago at Clemson.
It would produce a lot of forage and grain.
We would plant it in the fall.
One year we had a very late freeze in April and it got down into the teens and killed it dead as a door nail to the ground.
Brown as a grocery sack.
It sprouted back and tillered and made a huge crop.
It never caught on big here in the southeast.

I cut it twice last year on dryland and some of it could?ve been cut 3 times you just can?t hardly kill it .got 10 1500 pounds the first time and and five 700 pound bales the second cut and I bet I could?ve cut another 3 on the third cutting . I?m going to fertilize this year and see what happens

Its a cross between wheat (usually durum) and rye. Produces more biomass than wheat and a better quality grain for feeding.
