Coronavirus At The Farm

Staying inside either the barn or the house, or on tractors. When Im bored, I drag out old favorite movies. But here's a warning; DO NOT try to watch one of your Men-in-Black favorite movies. About a third of the way through one, you'll get real antsy and worried about all the aliens and monsters and killers trying to eradicate life on earth. Just a little too scary.

SWMBO's binging on the Heartland series. I'm mostly in the basement tinkering and doing small repairs that I don't usually get to. Not quite warm enough for the tractors. I bought the 148 loader I posted about a while back, hauled it home yesterday. Haven't heard of any cases in Geauga County yet.

I have been doing a lot of social distancing in my garden lately. Works real well, no one comes near me because they are afraid they will have to work!

In our little English village, no aircraft trails in the sky, the pub is closed, McDonalds are closed nationally, KFC also. School is closed, so no mothers taking kids to school, church is closed. Life is very quiet.

Same here, Phil... churches, schools, dine-in restaurants, gyms, hair and nail salons, bars/pubs all ordered to shutdown. Some malls and libraries have chosen to close. Our local bank has closed its lobby except if you call in and schedule an appointment... otherwise all other business is drive-through lanes or online banking only. Reduced hours at stores to allow more time for disinfecting and restocking shelves. Feels surreal.

Well spend it on the underground toilet paper purchases of course......

I live on a blacktop on the way to the grain elevator.

Non stop semis running, hauling grain. Or hauling feed away from the elevator/ feed mill. Really surprised there is that much grain to haul up yet this time of year.

Anyhow, busy roads here.

Hopefully a calm thread that doesn?t bother the moderators or anyone stirs up, we are where we are need to make the best of it.

Well, Saturday while I was cleaning up the water soaked barn I was experiencing extreme social distancing. Nobody was anywhere near. Kinda surprised me.

I would like to be working in my garden too, but it's so wet around here the ground is like walking on a sponge. Been working on various projects that have been on the back burner for a while.

I always have plenty to do. I just got my garden soil worked up, then it rained. More rain this weekend.Stan

SweetFeet,

I have a feeling that our leaders are trying so hard to do the right thing and trying to protect us from the invisible enemies but when they ordered the beauty and hair salons to shut down I am just afraid it is going to start a full blown revolution. I sure hope that the ladies have an ample supply of Revlon on hand. I will never forget when my Mother was in the late December of her years she would schedule an appointment with her hair dresser in the morning and her doctor in the afternoon of the same day. I often wondered which one helped her the most. They are all gone now. God Bless them all as few will ever know the hardships they all went through. Tom

Not much change for me so far. Alabama has not put us under house arrest yet. Most of my work does not require direct contact with people. When it comes to check collecting I just let them crack the door and slide it to me. Chit chat is through a closed glass storm door or several feet distant. Some are on a monthly billing so they just mail a check.

still working on house nightmare full time, work till 8 ,9 pm. shower supper bed around 10. only thing diff around her I now use Hy-Vee or Walmart drive up pickup. like it used to be in the 60/70s growing up. what goes around comes back around,

Well down here in Columbiana County we now have 2 , they are not sayen where though . Not much to be had in the stores . Some are taking this seriously and some think this is a joke . Myself i don't want to find out the hard way as they consider me high risk . Four weeks ago i had a round of the OLD fashioned flu and that was enough for me as like always it went straight to my lungs and still not breathing well.
