John Deere 630 top link

I recently picked up an original center link for my 59 John Deere 630. On the opposite side of the main body/handle is an open hole. I?ve seen some with the open hole and most have something over the hole. My question, what is supposed to cover that hole and is there an aftermarket piece I can find or do I make something to cover it
Thanks

Yep, it's just a plug that's still available from JD. I just bought the plug last year to fix this one.

Looks like the right sized 'freeze plug' could work. Freeze plug is a misnomer, they were actually casting plugs. HTH

It's a 2-1/8" Welch plug, reasonably priced even at Mother DEERE!

Oddly enough, Deere dealer is the best place to get that type of plug. Might have to buy a package but still they can get a good range of sizes.
