Farmall 400 diesel injection pump issues

Hey guys. Is there anyone out there that can give me a little advice on my injection pump on my farmall 400 diesel? The tractor sat for close to ten years but it was my grandpas and he took extremely good care of it from when he bought it new. When he parked it it ran perfect. It s starts on gas really well and when I switch it to diesel it runs for about 30 seconds and then dies. I have good pressure on the gauge but it won t stay running. I read an email on red power that a guy said to take the oil filler tube off and make sure the rack rod is moving so I did I took it off but I don t see anything other than a little lever with a stopper bolt on it and a bolt with two nuts on it. Any help would be really appreciated thanks guys

When you look in it's a rod with adjusting bolt and nut, could be threads with nuts can't remember, can just see part of rod. that
is the rack. Fuel pressure gauge just tells the primary pump on rear of pump is passing good pressure to injection pump. Two types
of primary pumps were used on a 400. Early 400 used 3 lines to pump at rear of injection pump and also contained a scavaging pump.
other ones had two lines. With engine running on gas remove pin from lever on side of pump and pull back lever and open bleed on
injectors. If no fuel pressure there I would suspect the rack could be stuck, or in the plunger. Also depends what was done before
starting. Was fuel added? was fuel low or drained, or fuel bad? If air managed to get in the system a bleed of air from filters and
all may need done to remove air.
