Can this valve be converted to a closed center type

I think it?s an old Farmhand valve came off my f11 loader

Hard to tell from picture but looks like open center only to me.Convertable valves have a provision for a plug...should tell you on valve itself.Looks like two open center valves piggybacked together.Looks like the two spool valve has a built in relief valve. If its convertible that will have to be plugged too.

Most convertible(OC to CC & vice versa) hyd control valves that I've seen have the plug installed 90 to spool on same side of valve body as oil return hose port. Plug on your valve body may be a relief valve but your photo isn't clear enough for my old eyes to determine.

I was really hopping to get lucky but probably not it
doesn?t look like . Surplus center has some pretty
good valves I found a joystick with a third circuit
lever But it?s an open center joystick

The plug you have circled would be for a relief valve if it were by itself. The only thing you could do is change the spools.

If one desires to change spools then valve housing must also be changed because spool & valve housing are a machined fit.

PS: changing spool won't change control valve from OC to CC or vice versa.

Why not clean up the valves and look for mfg. name and some model numbers, then someone can give you an informed answer.

It's POSSIBLE the hex part at the output side (RH side) of the double valve that looks like a reducer bushing is actually a sort of sleeve/conversion "plug", as I recall some valves were made that way.

You could remove the single valve, then remove that part from the double valve and determine if it's actually just a reducer bushing or is a more involved "conversion plug".

Granted there are probably other parts sources but I'm familiar with searching for parts on JD. I wonder why if someone desires a spool or valve body from JD no part #s are shown only part # for complete valve assembly ? Way back when I was employed by a dealer no spools were offered for sale individually IE one must buy a complete valve assembly. I guess milling technology has advanced since then.

Valve is marked gressen Minneapolis the double valve is marked 2712 and also has a two digit code number 16
The single spool is marked gressen Minneapolis 2701 with a two digit H4 code . The two digit code is where the blue circle is

Looks like I can change the two spool but probably not the single which is ok don?t have a grapple set up put together right now anyway

Patently waiting for ?your agriculture company?
formally known as the ?allis gleaner company ? to
get back to me on whether or the plug is still
available. Hopefully it will be available

(quoted from post at 06:20:01 03/08/20) I think I better get the farmhand part so I know what
I?m getting ?

Maybe you're correct but Gresen made the valve not Farmhand. By chance did you see any letters on valve body designating valve model?

There are no letters . Farmhand lists the part so
hopefully since they sold it they know what part it
takes. Hopefully it?s still available if not then we?ll
have to either get a new valve or start shooting dice
and pray we might get the right part

If you do acquire a CC plug & utilize valve on one of your JD tractors be sure to adjust relief valve completely closed or at least above tractor stand-by pressure.

I?ll remember that i bet it?s set pretty low right now
when I got the loader it was still hooked up to the
pto pump which I couldn?t get to pump but that?s
another story I guess . I guess Parker bought
gressen so hopefully we can come up with
something hopefully agco has one sitting in a
warehouse somewhere
