John Deere 3010 backhoe

Welcome to YT
are you desiring to attach a frame or 3 pt mounted backhoe to your 3010. Whichever style BH you select be sure hyd control valve is for closed center hyd system

Jim asks a very important question!

I used to have a JD 4010 gasser. When I bought it, I'd also bought a JD backhoe set up for 3-pt.. It was farm-made, but whoever did it really knew what they were doing.

That said, I believe the backhoe was originally on a JD 310 TLB and somehow got converted for use on any tractor. But you have to realize, connecting via 3-pt brought some problems. First, the backhoe was no longer rigid-mount to the machine. Every time the bucket went down, the seat (and me!) went up. Was a constant Buckin' Bronco ride. Second problem was, the backhoe now sat farther back than it would if affixed to the machine. The 4010 had all it could do to raise and carry that backhoe attachment! It worked, but was not a good match for sure.

In my yard is a customer machine, a 574 IH tractor with a John Deere 51 or 52 hoe mounted to it. This was put together years ago
with a sub frame built into the tractor that allows easy (less than 5 minutes) attaching/detaching the hoe. I cannot get exited
about 3pt mounted hoes for exactly the reasons the other poster stated

Does it have to be JD? I have a ARPs I use on many tractors From a MF85 to a JD4430. Lately I've been using on a 4020.

When you switch BH from MF85 to JD 4430 or 4020 do you install a hyd closed center plug in BH control valve?
