Out of curiosity, what ever happened to Guide, the company that made so many, if not most lights for the antique tractors? Did they get bought up by some other company, go out of business, change names, etc? Just asking as I have always been interested in knowing. Thank you for your time and any feedback.

http://www.charleswbullock.com/Guide/History.html. try this to learn about guide headlights, a division of GM

I worked at GUIDE 1962 to 1999 in tool room. At the time GUIDE made all GM tail and head lights. They made tractor
lights also. The plant covered over 50 acres.Guide was the only GM plant that had ever thing. It had a enginnering
department,design department, tool room,machine building department.Guide made die cast parts,plastic part,and sheet
metal sampings. FYI The 1965 chevy was the most sold car in one year. Sold over 10,040,000 and GUIDE made all the head
lights and tail lights and all the other GM light at the same time. Sadly though about 5 years after I retired they
close the plant and took all the building down. GUIDE LAMP is now GUIDE LOT.

Thank you everyone for your feedback, details, and even the first-hand experiences. That is all great information and I appreciate it. My father worked for G.E. and retired a number of years ago. To my knowledge, and his, he never made anything tractor related. I always chuckle and believe his claim to fame was making the 4-sided flash cube bulbs for the cameras in the 60s and 70s. He was on many machines throughout his near 40 years of employment there. Thank you once again for the history lessons.
