Bought these this morning now got to find a way to get them up on wheels. 8'X 5'X 40" deep 3 1/4" thick walls concrete. Will be used for cow watering troughs.

Have you used that kind or seen someone else use them? I have no experience, but I have heard of an incident where a calf got in and drowned. I do nit know what shape it was except that after the incident some cross bars were added. Maybe the bar over the top is to prevent something like that

I get about 34 cubic feet of concrete total. With concrete density at about 150 pounds per cubic foot, the total weight would be about 5100 pounds.

JD, I second the motion of hiring them hauled by concrete company. We had them hauled to our job sites many times and placed in the hole. Around 8000 lbs for a 1000 gallon tank.

Yes. 3 times. Lol. I am aware of that problem...can and will happen IF cattle are worked against them or at weaning time, mama on one side and baby on the other.
But out in a pasture have not had a problem.

I agree. Just be careful about how deep that is. You can fill the bottom with a big bucket full of gravel. Three feet deep is Plenty.

wonder how you will clean the tank once its buried? guess its possible but be time consuming. those galvananized tanks are easy just flip them over. the water does get slimmy in hot weather.
