the serial # says its a 1952 super W6. from what I see it has the correct front hubs for a super. other would be disc brakes instead of band brakes. that is one way to tell some of the improvements. these came out in the last of the straight 6's. your tag is saying super which is the best thing to go by.

nope, in 1952 the super had the same tub frame as the standard w6. in 1953 they changed to the channel frame. I have 2 of these supers. you could have either an early 53 with tub frame or later with the channel frame. the supers have a faster gearing in trans. for example 4th gear in the standard is 4.9 mph, while the super is 6.6 mph in 4th gear. when I was young the neighbour had a super 6 and we had a standard 6. I used to like to drive his because you could tell the difference in 4th gear quite easily. it was the tub frame 1952 model.

you are pretty close to the last tub frame, pretty sure the last tub was #2277 I need to go inspecting on mine.

No dis-respect meant, but what you have is a McCormick W6. IHC never designated the Standards as Farmalls. (although pretty much everyone knows what you mean!)

I didn't know that I knew it was a McCormick but I have also heard people call them Farmall I have wondered if that was how it was originally meant though

no, two totally different tractors. I just hate when people call international tractors a farmall. the ones that call them farmall don't know there is a difference, only that they are red. even when I used to go for parts the parts man would ask... "is that international or farmall"

was going to say that the Super Farmall M is the farmall model and the Super McCormick W6 is the McCormick later changed to International on the next model which was the International 400. Farmall H vs McCormick W4 is the smaller model.

I'm always interested in where people live. Your photos look interesting - green grass and snow. Where is that?

New York state the photos were the ones posted by the seller in North Collins where I live in Forestville NY we have all snow

actually I apologise the photos were ones I took at the sellers house in North Collins NY I live in Forestville NY about a half hour away the sellers pictures were almost the same I confused them
