John Deere 4640

I have a John Deere 4640 right now sitting in my back field, the tractor hasn?t moved since I cracked the manifold. I have a 4430 that has been sitting in the same spot ever since I blew the rear end ploughing, I was wondering if I could take my manifold from the 4430 and stick it on the 4640 I haven?t looked at the two and am not to familiar with the two motors.

Which manifold is cracked? The 4640 has a 466 cubic inch engine with an intercooler attached to the intake manifold. The 4430 has a 404 cubic inch engine.

I think the bolt pattern on the head is the same. Like lonM said the intakes are different. Not sure if the exhaust are the same as far as turbo orientation.

Ok thanks, I was just wondering what my options were do that instead of buying a new manifold from John Deere as anything Deere is expensive.

Which piece of manifold is cracked??

Yes they will inter-change,,if you were closer I would have them both back in the field in a week..

Deere isn t any more expensive than AGCO, CIH or CAT.
At least go online to the JD parts book and price the manifolds prior to deciding the manifold is too expensive .
